Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center Welcomes Three New Board Members

The Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center is excited to welcome three new members to our Board of Directors! Caroline Hilton McDougal, Derek Mathis, and Caroline Johnson—thank you for being a part of our mission to prevent abuse, protect children, and heal families.

Meet Derek Mathis  

Derek Mathis served on the Board of Directors from 2011- 2021. He joined the board in the fall of 2011 as a result of a board recruitment event for young executives sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Trident United Way. Derek served as board chair in 2017 and on the ad hoc committee to locate a second location for our capital expansion. Derek is Senior Vice President at SunCap Property Group and he and his wife, Jennifer, live in Mt. Pleasant with their three children.

Meet Caroline Hilton McDougal

Caroline Hilton McDougal is the Senior Director of Quality for 787 and Boeing South Carolina where she is responsible for the 787 program’s Quality Management System, ensuring a healthy production system, and satisfying program and customer commitments as well as regulatory requirements. Caroline holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina

Meet Caroline Johnson

Caroline Johnson joined the Board of Directors in 2011 and served three full terms. During her time on the board, Caroline held officer positions and was the board chair in 2019. She and her husband, Harry, co-chaired the Above and Beyond Capital Campaign. Caroline first became involved with Dee Norton as a volunteer on the dinner auction committee and was instrumental in securing a larger location for the expanded event after our many years at Fleet Landing. Caroline and her husband live in Mt. Pleasant. She is the mother of two sons.
