BRIEF HISTORY OF HOPE GROWS HERE:

On February 6, 2025, Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center’s Hope Grows Here fundraising gala will celebrate its 25th anniversary. This event is marked by the immense generosity of sponsors, donors, and attendees who have collaboratively raised over $8,000,000 since its inception in 2001. Those funds have helped more than 5,200 children and families affected by abuse or trauma find hope and healing at Dee Norton.

We at Dee Norton are guided by the mission to lead and coordinate a child-focused, community-wide response to prevent abuse, protect children, and heal families. We provide expert, comprehensive services from the moment of concern through the healing process at no cost to the family. Since opening our doors in 1991, more than 32,000 children and their families have been helped at Dee Norton.

The average cost to deliver comprehensive services which include a forensic interview, medical examination, mental health assessment, and therapy is over $2,000 per child. Our supporters help fund the life-changing assistance Dee Norton provides abused children and their families in the Lowcountry.
